Fabrication and simulation study for vertical micro-TEGs based on printed circuit board manufacturing processes

Abstract The development of fabrication procedures for micro-thermoelectric generators ( µ TEGs) based on low-cost technologies, appropriate mass production is discussed and demonstrated in this study. Simulations were carried out, two manufacturing processes tested, device performance compared to simulation results vertical TEGs. substrate a printed circuit board, the thermoelectric materials are self-developed Bi 0.5 Sb 1.5 Te 3 (p-type) 2 2.7 Se 0.3 (n-type) pastes. A square TEG (15 mm × 15 500 m) with eight thermocouples (TCs) was fabricated. characterization fabricated 8-TC- out power output 1.23 W obtained TEG. measurement closely match as well. Moreover, novel electrical contact resistance setup designed implemented into final evaluation have more accurate assessment. study also applied setup. As result, resistivity /Cu calculated 5.65 10 −4 Ωcm .
